With the explosive growth of lacrosse in Section V at all levels officials are needed for the upcoming spring season.  The Genesee Valley Lacrosse Officials Association services Section V High Schools Men's Lacrosse at the Modified, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels.  There also has been a tremendous growth in Youth Lacrosse programs over the past 2-3 years which also requires trained officials.  We are currently looking for individuals who are interested in becoming officials for the upcoming season.  Candidates need no prior experience in officiating any sport and need not have had to played lacrosse.

We begin our New official training schedule each January.  Meetings typically last 1-2 hours depending on topics discussed and the length of the question and answer period.  It is the goal of the training sessions to cover the entire rule book prior to the start of the season which typically begins in late March.  Once the season is underway training sessions will be devoted to situations that may have arose in your games.  We also try to pair up new officials with experience officials to act as a mentor.  The mentoring process allows new officials to work games with and gain feedback from experienced officials.

Once you have submitted your application you need to maintain the status of "official in good standing", the following criteria shall be met

â–º Complete Application Form
